University of Botswana wil be the first African partner of UEMG

In a meeting that took place in 13th April, UEMG’s Rector and the University of Botswana’s Vice-Rector indicated the intention of creating partnerships between the two institutions. The deal will be UEMG’s first one with an African country.
The meeting for cooperation between the two institutions happened in a visit at Rectory’s Office (Cidade Administrativa) to welcome the Botswana Ambassy delegation, which is holding a series of official visits through Brazil.
The foreign representatives took advantage of the visit to find out how UEMG’s Administrative and Support Services are structured, how the Council and International Office are structured, possibilities of student and professor exchanges and University cooperation.
They showed up a particular interest on projects, partnerships and exchange development in the areas of Engineering and Medicine, aiming the combat against tropical diseases.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dijon Moraes Júnior, Rector of UEMG, Prof. José Eustáquio de Brito, Vice-Rector of UEMG and the UEMG’s International Relations Advisor, Danielly Tolentino. The foreign delegation was composed by Prof. Thabo Fako, vice-rector of University of Botswana, Prof. Benjamin Bolanee, Dean of Engineering and Technology Faculty of University of Botswana and Mrs. Thandiwe Tsheko, First Secretary of Botswana.
