The Minas Gerais State University (UEMG) was created on the multicampi style, from the reunion of Institutions of Graduation on the capital and on the countryside. This multicampi style is made not only like an alternative to the conventional institution of educations, but also like politics of regional development. So, the university fits itself, at the same time, universally and regionally.
What makes UEMG different from the other universities is the compromise with the Minas Gerais State and with all the regions in which there are cooperation with the State, with the cities and with public and private companies.
The Campus Belo Horizonte consists of those following units:
Design School (ED), Guignard School (Fine Arts), Music School (ESMU), Education University (FaE), Public Politics University Tancredo Neves (FaPP).
On the countryside we have the following Units:
Barbacena, Campanha, Carangola, Diamantina, Divinópolis, Frutal, Ituiutaba, Leopoldina, Passos, Poços de Caldas, Ubá and the Engineer University (FAENGE) in João Molevade.
